Ph.D. Fellowships for Criminology and Police Science - BPRD Admissions 2012

Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR and D), Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi is inviting applications for the award of fellowships for Doctoral Work (Ph.D.) in Criminology and Police Science for 2012 - 2013. BPRD is encouraging research in these areas through fellowships. Candidates from many humanities and social science backgrounds can apply for these fellowships.

Eligibility Conditions: Applicants should have First or second class Master’s Degree with minimum 55 percent marks in any of the following subjects... Criminology, Sociology, Social work, Psychology, Social Anthropology, Public Administration, Political Science or Law. The Candidates should have registered for Ph.D Degree in any of the subjects mentioned above.

NET / SLET qualification is an added advantage but not the sole criteria for selection. Benefits under this fellowship scheme:

1) 6 Fellowships per year will be awarded for Criminology and Police Science areas.
2) The duration of fellowship will be normally for three years.
3) The value of Fellowship is Rs. 8,000/-P.M. for the first two and Rs. 9,000/- p.m. for the third year.
4) Contingency grant of Rs. 10,000/- per year will be sanctioned to all fellowship holders.
