JIPMER MBBS Notification 2012 - Pondicherry - Results and Counseling

Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research, highly popular as JIPMER, Puducherry (Pondicherry) announced notification for admission to MBBS Course for the year 2011-12. The Course will commence from July 2011. JIPMER is a highly prestigious institute in India for Medical Education. JIPMER conducts an all India level entrance examination for admissions to MBBS. Indian Government has recognised JIPMER as an Institute of National Importance. JIPMER is the most preferred institute after AIIMS for MBBS aspirants across the country. Following are the details of MBBS admissions 2011-12 at JIPMER:

There are a total of 100 seats in JIPMER. Out of these only 17 seats are available for general / other state's students after deducting seats reserved for Central Government and Union Territory quotas. Duration of the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Educational Qualification: Applicants should have studied Higher / Senior Secondary Examination / 10+2/ Intermediate with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Botany and Zoology at +2 level. They must have secured at least 50 percent marks in aggregate (excluding English, a compulsory subject for all). Relaxations in marks an age applicable for reserved applicants as per rules. Students those appearing for their final year exams of qualifying degree can also apply.

Candidates can through online / offline methods. Entrance Exam will be conducted at Guwahati, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkatta, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Bangaluru, Bhopal, New Delhi, Puducherry and Thiruvananthapuram centers.
