NIMCET Cut Offs and Number of MCA seats in NITs

Though MCA is losing its sheen due to slow down in job market and growing importance of Engineering over MCA, The NITs are still in demand for their MCA courses. Known as premier institutions for Technical courses, National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are offering MCA Courses. NITs conduct an All India entrance Exam, NIMCET for admission to MCA courses in 11 NITs across the country. Following are details of seats in various NITs and general cut off marks required for admission in MCA of NITs.

NIMCET exam will have 120 questions with each question carrying 4 marks. The total marks for the question paper is 480. Out of these, a score of 300- 350 shall assure you a seat in reputed NIT. As the numbers of seats are doubled during 2008 to 2011 from 500+ to 800+, there are fair chances of getting a seat in NIT even if you are around 280-300 marks.
