DME- General Nursing and Midwifery GNM Admissions 2011-12

Office of the Director of Medical Education, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh has issued notification for admission into 1st year of Three (3) years General Nursing and Midwifery course and (6) Six months Internship for the academic year 2011-2012 batch. Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply for this course. Admission to nine Government Schools of Nursing attached to the Government Teaching and General Hospitals and recognized private Nursing schools in the State will be through this notification. Following are details of hospitals / Govt. Nursing Schools, seats, eligibility and application procedure:

1. Osmania General Hospital, Hyderabad : 60 seats
2. Govt. General Hospital, Guntur : 60 seats
3. MGM Hospital, Warangal : 60 seats
4. Govt. General Hospital, Vijayawada. : 30 seats
5. Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad. : 60 seats
6. King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam. : 60 seats
7. Govt. General Hospital, Kurnool. : 60 seats
8. Govt. General Hospital, Kakinada. : 36 seats
9. Govt. Area Hospital, Bodhan.: 25 seats

Educational Qualifications: Applicants should have passed XII class / Intermediate / +2 or its equivalent examination preferably with Science subjects. Candidates who have passed ANM course of 18 months are eligible to admit into GNM course. They will be exempted 6 months duration in GNM course as per the rules. Candidates should have secured minimum 45 percent marks in Intermediate / +2 level. Relaxations apply for reserved candidates. Age should be between 16 - 35 years as on 1st July 2011.

Selection of the candidates will be made purely on merit in the group subjects of the qualifying examination. Candidates passed in single attempt will be preferred over compartmental students. Application Procedure: Interested candidates can obtain application forms from during 4th July 2011 to 21st July 2011 from all the Offices of the concerned Superintendents of Govt. General Hospitals mentioned above. They should produce a fee challan for Rs 50/-(Rs.Fifty only). Filled in application forms should reach the concerned Superintendents of the Hospitals on or before 4th August 2011.
