Osmania- Faculty of Oriental Languages Admissions

Faculty of Oriental Languages, Osmania University is offering UG, PG, PG Diploma and Ph.D. Programmes in Oriental Languages. At the Under Graduate Courses level, following subjects are offered: Arabic, Urdu, Telugu, Marathi, Hindi and Sanskrit. Selection will be based on an Entrance Examination which is open to all who have working knowledge in the concerned language. Those qualified in this course are eligible for admission to pre-Degree course in the concerned language.

2) Pre-Degree Course: Duration is 2 years. Subjects offered are Arabic, Urdu, Telugu, Marathi, Hindi and Sanskrit. Candidates should have passed in SSC Examination / 10th class. They should qualify in the entrance examination conducted by University / State/Visharada Examination of Andhra Saraswatha Parishad.

3) B.A. (Languages): Subjects offered in three year BA course are Arabic, Telugu, Marathi, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu etc. Candidates those passed in Diploma in Oriental Languages or Pre-Dgree Course of OU are eligible to apply.

4) M A (Languages): Duration is two years. Subjects offered are Telugu, Hindi, Arabic, Urdu. Eligibility: Applicants should have passed in BOL (Bachelor of Oriental Languages) with English of B.A. Part I or B.A.(Languages) Examination with the
main language or in the concerned language under Part I of the course with at least 50 percent of marks. Candidates with B.A./ B.Sc./ B.Com Degree examination with minimum 50 percent marks in the concerned languages are also eligible.

5) Ph.D in Oriental Languages: Duration of full time course is 3 years and part time course is 4 years. Candidates should have Mater’s degree in the concerned subject with at least 55 percent marks.
