OU College of Commerce and Management - M.Phil and Ph.D Admissions

Osmania University is offering M.Phil and Ph.D. Programmes in the discipline of Commerce and Management. University College of Commerce and Business Management of OU is offering these courses every year. Both M.Phil and Ph.D. are offered in full time and part time modes. M.Phil course is considered as Pre - Ph.D. course. Osmania University issues separate notification for these courses. Notification will be displayed on the OU website also at www.osmania.ac.in . Following are details of programmes, eligibility and application procedure:

1) M.Phil (Master of Philosophy): Duration is one year. Qualifications: Applicants should have passed Master’s Degree in the concerned subject or in an allied subject securing minimum 55 percent marks. M. Phil is a full time course and those candidates registered for this course should work as full time research scholars. Working teachers may be allowed to register for the course if they take four months leave during the course work. Selection of the candidates will be based on performance in an Entrance Test and also subject to all other rules of the university.

2) Ph.D. (Doctor of Philosophy): Durations is 3 years for full time course and 4 years for part time course. Qualification: Candidates should have Master’s degree in the concerned or in an allied subject approved by Osmania University. They should have secured minimum of 55 percent marks in aggregate. SC and ST candidates need at least 50 percent marks. Applicants should have M.Phil Degree in the concerned subject. Admission will be based on Eligibility Test conducted OU. Those qualified in UGC CSIR/ NET GATE OR SLET examination of Government of Andhra Pradesh will be exempted from Eligibility Test.
