AP Junior Inter Chemistry Imp Questions - Atomic Structure, Elements and Properties

Hard work with systematic planning will fetch you good marks. Perfection in preparation for Intermediate Public Examinations will also help in all the competitive examinations. As we know the pattern of examination, repetition of 4 marks and 8 marks questions from previous examinations, let us follow a study plan.

Inter board has given a blue print for each subject till 2012. At present there is no blue print. But one can predict the probable weightage of each and every chapter from previous knowledge and from model question paper
given at the end of the text book. As the number of understanding & application type questions are increased,
must go through them. Every mark is very important as proper weightage (25% to 40%) is given for Inter marks
in exams like EAMCET and JEE.

Atomic Structure

In general three 8 marks questions are given from Atomic Structure, Periodic table, Chemical bonding or Organic Chemistry (or Chemical equilibrium and Acids - Bases). ➠ In addition to quantum numbers, Bohr's model of H atom (postulates, H spectrum, limitations) learn de Broglie relation, Heisenberg uncertainty principle, related
problems (also Rydberg equation based), Plank's quantum theory, shapes of s, p, d, f orbitals, node, nodal plane, Aufbau, Hund, Pauli's principles from "Atomic Structure" lesson.

Those who are trying for 60 out of 60 marks, solve all the 2 marks problems and questions given at the end and in boxes.
As we need electronic configuration of the elements upto Z = 30, practice confidently.
Learn & use SI units where ever you require.

Classification of Elements, Periodicity in Properties

In this lesson, classification of elements into s, p, d, f blocks, IE1, IE2, factors effecting, periodic properties & their trends in a group and in a period. Prepare a table for all the periodic properties and their trends in a group and in a period and learn them by comparison.

Pictorial graphs, typical trends, concepts of this lesson will make you perfect in understanding all the properties of 1 to 18 group elements.
Isoelectronic series, Lanthanide contraction, diagonal relationship, IE, EN, Electron gain enthalpy are to be learned.
