Update on 8th September 2011: ICET 2011 Final / Second phase counseling notification has been released. You can exercise web options through apicet.nic. on 14th and 15th of September 2011. Seat allotments will be displayed on 16th September 2011. Candidates can download seat allotments from apicet.nic.in on the said date. Candidates have to download the allotment order by submitting information such as icet hall ticket number, rank, date of birth etc. Candidates should follow the instructions given on the allotment order. They need to join in the allotted colleges along with fee receipts and other necessary documents.
ICET 2011 Seat Allotments for MBA and MCA Courses through first phase counseling will be released on 30th August 2011. Allotment orders can be downloaded from ICET 2011 official website at http://apicet.nic.in/default.aspx OR link to allotment orders may also available at www.icet2011.net . Following are details of cancellation of allotted seat, college and second phase ICET 2011 counseling.
Those candidates not interested in joining allotted MCA / MBA College need not pay any fee and they should not report at the college. If the candidate decided to not join in the allotted college after paying the fee, he / she should not submit / hand over the fee receipt at the allotted college. Then only they will be considered for Second Counseling. There seems to be indifference among the students towards ICET and MBA / MCA courses. Hence there will be good number of seats remain vacant after first phase results.
2nd phase counseling for ICET 2011 will be conducted by APSCHE during the third / last week of September 2011. Candidates have to follow the same procedure as they were done in the first phase counseling. Those already gone through the phase of certificate verification and their certificates are with helpline center, they need not attend again for the certificate verification. IF you have taken back your certificates after first phase, you have to attend the certificate verification and participate in web options entry. Results of second phase ICET 2011 counseling are likely be announced in the last week of September 2011.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2012) notification has been announced by IITs. GATE is a popular examination in India conducted for admission into Post Graduate Courses such as ME/ M.Tech in Engineering in IITs. Apart from prestigious IITs, other reputed engineering institutes like NITs, famous Government, aided and private post graduate colleges also consider GATE 2012 scores for admission to various post graduate programmes. The GATE exam will be conducted jointly by IISC Bangalore and IITs. GATE 2012 qualified candidates will get scholarships / fellowships by MHRD if they join in post graduate programmes in Technology/ Engineering / Architecture / Doctoral Programs in relevant branches of Science in any recognised institute or college. GATE is an essential qualification along with Bachelors Degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture or Master's degree in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications to get admission in Post Graduation / Doctoral Degree. There will be negative marking for wrong answers. GATE 2012 paper shall have General Aptitude (GA) section carrying 15 marks. This is common for all candidates.
