ICET 2011 Seat Allottments Download, Second - Final Phase Counseling Details

Update on 8th September 2011: ICET 2011 Final / Second phase counseling notification has been released. You can exercise web options through apicet.nic. on 14th and 15th of September 2011. Seat allotments will be displayed on 16th September 2011. Candidates can download seat allotments from apicet.nic.in on the said date. Candidates have to download the allotment order by submitting information such as icet hall ticket number, rank, date of birth etc. Candidates should follow the instructions given on the allotment order. They need to join in the allotted colleges along with fee receipts and other necessary documents.

ICET 2011 Seat Allotments for MBA and MCA Courses through first phase counseling will be released on 30th August 2011. Allotment orders can be downloaded from ICET 2011 official website at http://apicet.nic.in/default.aspx OR link to allotment orders may also available at www.icet2011.net . Following are details of cancellation of allotted seat, college and second phase ICET 2011 counseling.

Those candidates not interested in joining allotted MCA / MBA College need not pay any fee and they should not report at the college. If the candidate decided to not join in the allotted college after paying the fee, he / she should not submit / hand over the fee receipt at the allotted college. Then only they will be considered for Second Counseling. There seems to be indifference among the students towards ICET and MBA / MCA courses. Hence there will be good number of seats remain vacant after first phase results.

2nd phase counseling for ICET 2011 will be conducted by APSCHE during the third / last week of September 2011. Candidates have to follow the same procedure as they were done in the first phase counseling. Those already gone through the phase of certificate verification and their certificates are with helpline center, they need not attend again for the certificate verification. IF you have taken back your certificates after first phase, you have to attend the certificate verification and participate in web options entry. ICET 2011 Counseling Notification has been announced by APSCHE, Hyderabad. Candidates can attend for certificate verification as per the schedule and center given for their rank. The qualified candidates of ICET 2011 ca attend for certificate verification at any of the Helpline Centers. EAMCET 2011 Seats Allottment - Engineering and Pharmacy 2nd Phase Counseling

EAMCET 2011 seat allotments will be released by Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher education (APSCHE) on 14th August 2011 after 6 PM. The EAMCET seat allotment 2011 for Engineering and Pharmacy Courses will be displayed on the official EAMCET 2011 website of EAMCET at www.apeamcet.org OR apeamcet.nic.in OR http://apeamcet.nic.in . Candidates can obtain their allotment letters by logging into the site by following the procedure mentioned below. Following information will also give you the procedure to cancel the allotted engineering / pharmacy seat if you are not interested in joining in the allotted college and to participate in second phase eamcet 2011 counseling. Get Seat Allotment Order by following this procedure:

1) Enter the ICR Form Number (Registration Number), Hall Ticket Number, Password and Date of Birth in Candidate Login.
2) Download the allotment order and read the instructions printed on the document. You can also download challan form for payment of fee if you are not comes under fee reimbursement scheme.

EAMCET 2011 Engineering Second Phase Counseling:

If you are not interested in joining in the allotted college, you should not pay the fee in order to participate in the second round / phase of counseling. If you have decided to not to join in the allotted college after paying the fee, you should not submit the challan copy to the allotted college. You need not collect your original certificates if you want to participate in 2nd phase engineering counseling. Here is the summary of the procedure you should follow to cancel the allotted seat and participate in 2nd phase counseling:

1) Do not pay the fee if you are not interested in joining in the allotted Engineering / Pharmacy college.
2) If already paid the fee but not interested in joining in the allotted college, don't give the copy of fee challan in the college.
3) Do not take original certificates from Help Line Centers, if you want to participate in 2nd phase counseling

NTSE 2012 - NCERT National Talent Search Examination

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) was started by NCERT in 1963 under National Talent Search Scheme. The main objective of the NTSE is to identify meritorious students across the country through examinations in various stages such as State and National levels. The NCERT has announced NTSE 2012 notification. The NTSE test will help nurture the talent in the school children. On the basis of the performance in the NTSE examination, 1000 scholarships will be awarded for students appearing for Class VIII examinations. The scholarship amount for selected candidates will be 500/- Rupees per month. Following are details of the NTSE Scheme for 2012.

Essential Eligibility: Students studying Class VIII in recognized schools are eligible to appear Stage I examination conducted by the respective States / UTs in which the concerned schools are located.

Selection Procedure: Candidates will be selected based on two-stage selection process for this scholarship. For Stage-I, selection will be done by respective States / Union Territories through a written examination at the state level. Students who qualify Stage I will be eligible to appear for Stage II examination conducted by NCERT.

Application Procedure: Interested candidates can download application forms from NCERT website at www.ncert.nic.in . You can also obtain the application form from concerned State / UT Liaison officer for NTSE. The filled in application form should be signed by Principal of the school where the candidates is studying. There is no uniform date for submitting the application forms. CAT 2012 Notification for PGP in IIMs and Non-IIMs - New Exam Structure and Useful Boks

Common Admission Test (CAT) Notification for admission into PG Programme in Management (equivalent to MBA) in prestigious Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for 2012-13 has been announced by the IIMs. The CAT will be conducted online for 20 days from 22 October 2011 to 18 November 2011. CAT scores will be considered for admission into PGP in Management in IIMs at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhicode, Lucknow, Ranchi, Rohtak, Udaipur, Thiruchirapalli, Raipur, Kashipur and RGIIM- Shillong. Along with PGP in Management,some IIMs also offer Fellow Programs based on CAT score. CAT 2011 vouchers can be obtained from designated Axis Bank branches across India from 17 August 2011 to 26 September 2011. Cost of application/ voucher in Rs. 1600 (For SC, ST candidates Rs. 800). Apart from IIMs, there are so many prestigious private B-Schools which consider CAT scores for admission into their management courses of various type.

Essential Eligibility: The applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50 percent marks. Candidates appearing for the final year exams of degree and those awaiting for results can also apply. IIMs have specific eligibility criteria apart from CAT score. With the ICET counseling round the corner, student anxieties are running high. Where will I get my dream MBA/MCA seat? Would it be in a college of my liking? Would it be closer home? What would be quality education provider? Will I have good student life there? Would the college offer me attractive placement? During the counseling, how do I exercise my option of selection of my dream MBA / MCA College? These are the questions crisscrossing the minds of nearly 1,40,000 students who have cleared the ICET 2011 test. Though the ICET test scores are the basis for MCA admissions too, it is the admissions for MBA which are hot, leaving MCA far behind.

The MBA and MCA Programs are terminal professional degrees. Both are highly placement oriented, market driven degree programs. Hence it is no wonder that the prospective students for these programs are in a dilemma on where to join for their career launching program.

What factors should students consider to ‘zeroing down’ on a college to launch themselves into a future of opportunities? Several factors such as reputation of the college, quality of faculty members, quality of current students, accreditation, college academic rigor, teaching methodology, past performance, infrastructure facilities, hostel facilities, placement orientation, successful alumni, etc. influence their decision making process. 2) What role does the school play in ensuring placement for the students?
A clear understanding of these factors and how they impact a student’s education and placement in a good school would help in wise decision making. Let us delve these factors.

Placement track record of the college and the quality and adequacy of the faculty members are the two important criteria for selection of a good college. Both these cannot be assessed objectively unless prospective students visit a campus and interact with the existing students of the college or the alumni who are already working. ‘Word of mouth’ and peer feedback are more valuable than published claims by promoters of the institutes either in print media or electronic media or on websites.

While the schools may communicate and reach out to the prospective students through promotion material and web-sites, it is also important for them to develop and engage communication channels through their existing students and their alumni for spreading a good word about the quality of faculty, academic delivery and placement focus. The tendency of a prospective student and parent is that of a customer review for buying a book, seeing a movie or downloading music. Today’s prospective students with an inclination and ability to identify broad information sources when making decisions have lot many options available to them.

ICET 2011 Counseling, Seats Allotment, Fee and Colleges

ICET 2011 Counseling for admission into MBA and MCA courses in Government and Private colleges in Andhra Pradesh will commence from 16th August 2011. The detailed schedule with notification in this regard will be issued very soon by Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). Verification of Certificates will start from 16th August 2011. The APSCHE is contemplating to start the exercise of options simultaneously with certificate verification. ICET 2010 Last Ranks / Cut Offs for various colleges can help you estimate your chances of seat in different colleges.

There are around 971 colleges in the state of Andhra Pradesh offering 78,340 seats in the MBA Program. MCA Program is offered in 713 colleges with a total intake capacity of 50,148 seats. If we look at the aggregate of MBA and MCA seats, it would appear that every ICET qualified student would get into either MBA or the MCA Program. But the question is how to select a good MBA / MCA College?

The problem is not in the availability of some seat or the other. The core issues are – a large majority of the affiliated colleges of various universities do not have faculty members to delivery a minimum quality of education at higher degree level; a large number of them, barring a few, woefully lack the basic infrastructural facilities; most of them do not have well organised placement department, thus leaving the students to fend for themselves looking for a job and finally all these colleges do not have alumni network which is all important for management graduates. MCA Program faces other issues like the lab facilities for practice, cutting edge curriculum and advanced specializations.

JNAFAU Counseling Notification 2011 for Architecture Admissions

Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU), Andhra Pradesh has released Counseling Notification for admission into Architecture Course for the year 2011-12. Admission to B.Arch in University (Part TIme / Full Time) and Private colleges affiliated to JNAFAU, Hyderabad, Acharya Nagarujuna University, Guntur and Andhra University , Visakhapatnam will through counseling to be conducted by JNAFAU as per the schedule given below: Admission will be based on NATA entrance exam scores. Following is the counseling schedule for NATA qualified candidates:

1. Venue for Admission Counseling: Auditorium, School of Planning and Architecture, JNAFA University, Masab Tank, Hyderabad.
2. Counseling Dates: 16th, 17th and 18th August 2011.
3. Start of first year B.Arch. Class work: 01/09/2011

LPCET 2011 Counseling Schedule, Certificates and Rank Wise Schedule

Update on 8th September 2011: Final Phase counseling notification for LPCET 2011 qualified candidates has been announced by Department of Education, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. Candidates can attend for the Second / Final counseling on 14th, 15th and 16th of September 2011 at Keys Girls High School, Secunderabad, Hyderabad. All those qualified in TPT / UPT/ HPT cand attend for the counseling as per the schedule.

Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced LPCET 2011 Counseling Notification. The Counseling will be conducted as per the ranks and schedule given below. Qualified candidates of LPCET 2011 can attend the counseling along with all original certificates as prescribed in the notification. Admission into Language Pandit Courses (UPT, TPT and HPT) in Govt and Private Pandit Training Colleges for the year 2011-12 will be through LPCET ranks only.
