AIEEE 2011 Rescheduled on 11th May 2011 Due to Leak of Paper and Delay in Exam

AIEEE 2011 Examination has been rescheduled on 11th May 2011 for those candidates who missed to appear for the exam due to AFMC exam in the same center on 1st May 2011. They have to register through CBSE website www.cbse.nic.in on or before 5th May 2011. The exam city, center and timings will remain same for them on 11th May 2011.

The All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) 2011 was deferred by a few hours on Sunday (1st May 2011) after the Uttar Pradesh STF clued-up the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) that the question paper of the prestigious entrance exam had been leaked. Uttar Pradesh Special DGP (Law and Order) Brij Lal informed the media that the leaked question paper was recovered by STF officials from Lucknow. It was being sold for up to Rs 6 lakhs in the market as per the DGP of UP. AIEEE 2011 will be held on 11th May 2011 for those candidates appearing for AFMC exam to be held on 1st May 2011.

The AIEEE 2011 exam is for admission to BE/ B.Tech. / B.Arch / B. Planning courses and is held in two parts. The first paper is intended for Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) courses and the second paper is for Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch). The Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) has postponed the first part to 12 noon from the scheduled 9.30 AM. The second part of the AIEEE exam will be held from 4.00 pm to 7.00 pm on 1st May 2011.

CBSE chairman Vineet Joshi told the media that those candidates who are also appearing for the equally prestigious Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) examination for MBBS admission will be permitted to appear for the AIEEE on May 8th 2011. The May 8th exam will be held at the same examination centre and the same admit card will be valid for AIEEE 2011 on 8th May. The exam centers which are holding both the AIEEE as well as AFMC exams on 1st May can also choose to hold the AIEEE exam on May 8, 2011 at 9.30 am. With the latest developments, the AFMC exam has also been postponed to 4.30 pm from 2-30 PM. There seems to be a Bihar and Kanpur link has been there for the leak of AIEEE 2011 question paper. About 12 lakh students will be appearing for for AIEEE 2011 across the country at over 1,600 centres in more than 80 cities.

It is the first time that the AIEEE is being held in the online mode across the country. It is observed that about one lakh candidates from 20 cities will be taking the examination online. Admission to thousands of engineering seats in 30 National Institutes of Technology and about 150 engineering colleges throughout the country will be through AIEEE exam.

Candidates can also get duplicate score cards on request after paying the fee of Rs. 50/-. Duplicate score cards will be issued / dispatched between July - September 2012. Eligible marks for various categories for admission to AIEEE 2012 counseling are given below for B.E./ B.Tech. and B.Arch./ B.Planning courses.

1. General Category Candidates: 55 Marks
2. OBC Category candidates: 33 Marks
3. SC/ ST/ ALL PH candidates: 20 Marks

CCB will conduct centralized web counseling through ccb.nic.in or aieee.nic.in for AIEEE 2012 qualified candidates. Central Counseling Board (CCB) will announce the procedure for counseling. The Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) has officially released the Basar IIIT Notification 2026 for admissions into the 6-year Integrated B.Tech programme for the academic year 2026–27.  Students who have completed their 10th class (SSC) can now apply for this prestigious program and secure a direct pathway into engineering education.

Latest Update: RGUKT - IIIT Admission notification 2011 has been announced on 6th July 2011. There will be 3000 seats (1000 in each) in all three IIITs. Students can apply online on the official website at admissions2011.rgukt.in after paying Rs. 100 as fee. The authorities are also proposed to follow new admission procedure from this year in the wake of High Court's judgement on Mandal wise toppers selection. The Govt. is also proposed to introduce deprivation points to backward districts. The new admission rules will be disclosed soon. Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) is an initiative of Govt .of Andhra Pradesh to provide qualitative technical education and training for meritorious rural students of Andhra Pradesh. Three IIITs (International Institute of Information Technologies) are established under the purview of RGUKT. The RGUKT issued admission notification for the year 2011-12 and actual admission / counseling process will start after the release of Tenth Class results for 2011. The three IIITs (International Institute of Information Technologies) are located at Basara (Adilabad district), Nuzivedu (Krishna district) and Rajiv Knowledge Valley (Idupulapaya- Kadapa district).

Programs / Courses offered at RGUKT - IIITs: The Engineering Programs offered at IIITs will have maximum of 6 years duration. IIITs offer Dual Degrees in Engineering with focus on IT and Domain Specialisations. First two years of the program will be considered as Pre University Training. The Govt. of Andhra Pradesh is also considering introducing Post Graduate and Ph.D. and other Job oriented programs in RGUKT- IIITs.

Total seats available in IIITs are 3000. Number of seats were reduced in 2010 from 6000 to 3000. There will be 1000 seats in each IIIT. Following is the distribution of seats for various categories of students:

1. Seats reserved for State Level Merit quota: 450
2. Seats for Mandal level merit students in 10th Class: 2550
3. Seats reserved for students of Govt / Aided Schools: 70 percent of total seats
4. Seats for students of Private residential Schools: 20 percent
5. Seats for students of AP Residential Schools: 10 perent

Eligibility: RGUKT- IIITs are specially designed for SSC / 10th class pass out from rural areas of Andhra Pradesh. Candidates to IIITs will short listed and selected based on their 10th Class marks at the Mandal / District level. Merit students lists will be displayed on RGUKT website and made available after release of 10th class results.
