IGNOU Distance B.Ed. Admissions 2012

Indira Gandhi National Open University, much popular as IGNOU has announced notification for admission into its most sought after program B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) for the year 2012. Duration of the program is 2 years and the program is available in English and Hindi mediums in the distance mode. Government of India has relaxed the eligibility conditions for various categories of candidates for admission into B.Ed. program from 2011. At present, General Category Candidates should have 50 percent of marks in Bachelors or a Higher Degree course and Reserved candidates need 45 percent marks only. All other eligibility and qualification conditions remain unchanged. IGNOU will conduct an all India level entrance exam for short listing the candidates. Following are the details of eligibility and application procedure:

Eligibility: Apart from educational qualifications, candidates should have at least two years teaching experience in a government recognized school or government school. Candidates those pursuing their final year course of qualifying examinations also can apply. There is no age limit for admission to the program.

Candidates can obtain application forms from all regional centers of IGNOU and also from selected study centers across the country. In the state of Andhra Pradesh, applications are available at Regional Centers in Hyderabad and Vijayawada. Application fee is Rs. 500. Last date for receipt of filled in applications is 15th July 2011. B.Ed. Entrance test will be conducted by the IGNOU and the dates for the same will be announced later. Working teachers sponsored by the state governments are exempted from the entrance test.

INSPIRE Fellowships 2011 for UG and PG First Rank Holders

Innovation in Scientific Pursuit for Inspired Research, much popular as INSPIRE is a fellowship scheme introduced by the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India to encourage and promote research in basic sciences. These fellowships are intended for the first rank holders in Post Graduation courses in various disciplines of science and those have interest in pursuing Doctoral Program (Ph.D.) in the areas related to Science and Technology. Fellowship amount under INSPIRE Scheme is equivalent to the CSIR UGC NET / GATE qualified candidates. Following are details of eligibility and application procedure:

INSPIRE fellowships are offered by Govt. of India in the following disciplines:

Eligibility Conditions: Applicants must be first rank holders in the Post Graduate Program in Basic and Natural Sciences / Engineering Sciences / Pharmaceutical Sciences / Agricultural Sciences / Medical Sciences / Veterinary Sciences. First Rank holders in Under Graduate Engineering Sciences are also eligible and they should pursue Ph.D. Candidates must be first class holders at the University level. Selection of the candidates will be will be based on merit in the qualifying examination. Duration of the fellowship is five years.

Fellowships for UG Programs: INSPIRE Fellowships are also offered for candidates pursuing B.Sc. Natural / Basic Sciences, B.Sc. Honors, Integrated M.Sc. / MS Programs under 'Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) Scheme. Selection to these fellowships will the based on marks secured in Intermediate / +2 level. Total number of these fellowships is 10000. Duration of the fellowship is 5 years. Last date to apply for these scholarships will be 90 days from the date of publication of the notification. EAMCET 2011 Medical Web Counseling Schedule- MBBS, BDS Seats, Colleges and Last Ranks

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, in association with Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) will conduct web counseling for MBBS and BDS courses for the academic year 2011-2012. Detailed schedule is available at the end of this post in the image format. NTR University (http://59.163.116.210/) has already announced tentative schedule for Web Counseling to be conducted from 13th July 2011 to 18th July 2011. This will be the first web counseling for Medical courses in Andhra Pradesh. Online web counseling centers will be arranged at Osmania University (Hyderabad), SV University (Tirupati), Andhra University (Visakhapatnam) and NTR Health University (Vijayawada). Candidates can assess their chances of getting MBBS and BDS seats based on EAMCET Medical Last Ranks for 2010. Medical candidates can attend at any counseling center for certificate verification and counseling as per the ranks allotted for different dates. The number of seats in Medical and Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh is likely to increase this year. About 30 to 50 seats may be increased in private medical colleges. It is most likely that the intake in Katuru Medical College (AU Region) will go up to 150 from 100 seats.
