Andhra Pradesh Open School Society (APOSS), Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced notification for admission into 10th Class / Class X (SSC) through open and distance learning for the academic year 2011-2012. On completion of the course, candidates will become eligible to receive SSC (APOSS) pass certificate, if they pass in the five subjects chosen at the time of applicationa. Exams for the admitted candidates will be held during April / May 2012. Following are details of the course, subjects offered, eligibility conditions and application procedure:
The subjects offered by APOSS are Telugu, Urdu, English, Hindi, Tamil, kannada, Marathi and Oriya. Candidates have to choose any one or two languages from these. Other subjects offered are Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Studies, Home Science, Economics, Business Studies, Indian Culture and Heritage, Psychology, Word Processing (English) etc. Candidates have to select at least two and a maximum of 4 non language subjects for study. Candidates have to select 5 or 6 subjects as a whole and should pass in minimum five subjects to get SSC (APOSS) pass certificate.
Eligibility Requirements: Candidates does not need any formal education for study SSC / 10th class under Open School system. But they should be capable of studying 10t hclass. They should have completed 14 years of age as on 1st August 2011. There is no upper age limit. Applicants must be residents of Andhra Pradesh.
Applications can be obtained from the office of Director of APOSS, Hyderabad or from the Offices of District Educational Officers (DEOs) and also from PCP (Personal Contact Program) centers.
