BRAOU- UG Direct Admissions 2011-12 to B.A, B.Com, B.Sc

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad has announced notification for Direct Admission to Under Graduate Programs such as B.A, B.Com, and B.Sc. Courses for the academic year 2011-12. BRAOU is the first open university in the country to offer distance / correspondence programs. All the three UG programs are offered in Telugu, English and Urdu Medium. Duration of the program is 3 years. There will be no entrance test under this scheme of programs. Ambedkar Open University has more than 200 study centers across the state of Andhra Pradesh. Courses Offered: B.A., B.Com., B.Sc. in Open / Distance Education mode
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants should have Intermediate or its equivalent. Applicants age must be above 18 years. Candidates who have passed Eligibility Test between 2007 and 2010 can also apply. Admission through only Eligibility Test will be a separate process and BRAOU will release another notification for that purpose.

Interested candidates can obtain application forms and prospectus from all study centers of the university through paying application fee in the form of DD drawn in favour of 'The Registrar, Dr. BRAOU' payable at Hyderabad. Applications can also be obtained by post by sending a DD for Rs. 180 drawn in favour of Registrar, Dr. BRAOU, Hyderabad and payable at Hyderabad to 'Director, Student Service Branch, BRAOU Road No: 46, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad- 500033.

BCIL- BITP Biotech Industrial Training Program 2011-2012

There is a dearth of skilled Biotech professionals in the country. The Biotech industry has been complaining on the lack of industry specific skills in the students. To fill the gap between academics and industry, the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India is offering an innovative Biotech Industrial Training Programme (BITP) 2011-12. This is a good opportunity for Biotechnology and allied subjects students to settle in biotech career. Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL), managed by DBT is inviting applications from eligible candidates for Biotech Industrial Training Program (BITP) for the year 2011-2012. Those have undergone this training will be preferred in Biotech Companies at the time of recruitments. Practical industry oriented training will be imparted through BCIL - BITP program making it more helpful for Biotech students in getting jobs after the completion of course. Following are other details such as eligibility, selection procedure, model / previous papers and application procedure:

1. Duration of the entire course: 6 months (Including theory and industry training)
2. Stipend for the BITP: Rs. 8000 per month
3. Last date for receipt of completed applications: 31st July 2011.

Eligibility / Educational Qualifications: Applicants should have qualified in any one of the following examinations / courses. They should have M.Sc. / M.Tech. / B.E. / B.Tech./ M.V.Sc. in any of the following subjects....

1. Biotechnology / Molecular and Human Genetics/ Molecular Biology and Biotechnology OR
2. Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology/ Neurosciences / Bio Process Technology OR
3. Industrial Biotechnology/ Marine Biotechnology / Agricultural Biotechnology OR
4. Pharmaceutical Biotechnology / Medical Biotechnology/ Environmental Biotechnology OR
5. Food Biotechnology/ Animal Biotechnology/ Plant Biotechnology.

Candidates who have completed any of the above courses in 2010 or 2011 are only eligible to apply for this program. Candidates should have secured at least 60 percent marks in the qualifying examinations. Selection will be based on procedure laid down by the BCIL. Students with recommendation letters from industries will be preferred. Candidates can submit the letters during interviews.
