IETE M.Tech Computer Science Admissions 2011-12

The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineers (IETE), Hyderabad Center is inviting applications from eligible graduates and post graduates for admission into M.Tech. Computer Science program for the academic year 2011-12. The IETE center is located at Osmania University Campus, Hyderabad. This is a advanced level course in computer science (ALCCS). Following are details of program, eligibility and application procedure:

Course: ALCCS (Equivalent to M.Tech. in Computer Science in Regular Part-Time mode). Eligibility: Applicants should have B.E./ B.Tech (in any branch) / MCA / AMIE / AMIETE / M.Sc. (Maths and Electronics and other allied sciences such as Physics / Statistics/ Operation Research / Computer Science). Duration of the course is 3 years (6 Semesters).

ALCCS is a 3 year Regular Part time Course offered at New Delhi and Hyderabad and Chennai centers of IETE. The ALCCS has been recognized by Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India as equivalent to M.Tech in Computer Sciences. The degree will be accepted for the recruitment to superior posts and services under Central Government. The course is intended to impart advanced training in the area of Scientific, Industrial and Commercial Software Development.

Interested candidates can obtain application cum prospectus from the IETE , Hyderabad either in Cash or by post. Application fee is Rs. 250 by cash, Rs. 300 by post. Fee should be paid in the form of DD drawn in favour of 'Honorary Secretary, IETE, Hyderabad'. Filled in application forms should be sent to the institute along with required copies of certificates on or before 6th August 2011. Entrance examination will be conducted on 7th August 2011. Osmania PGCET Couseling Schedule 2011 - GITAM, Badruka Admissions Info

1. Osmania University has released OU PGCET 2011 Counseling Schedule and the same is displayed on its website www.osmania.ac.in . The Counseling will be held for various courses from 20th July 2011 to 9th August 2011 for admission to various Post Graduate and PG Diploma courses for the year 2011-2012. The OU also informed that entrance examination for 5 Year Integrated programs will be conducted on 17th July 2011. Gitam University (Visakhapatnam - Hyderabad) and International School of Engineering, Hyderabad are jointly offering M.Tech. in Applied Computer Science an Technology with specialisation in Business Analytics and Optimisation. The Program is offered at Gitam University, Hyderabad campus only. Interested candidates can download application forms from university website www.gitam.edu . Bhavan's Vivekananda College of Science, Humanities and Commerce, Secunderabad is inviting applications for admission into MBA course for the academic year 2011-12 under Category - B (Management Quota). Number of seats under Category B is 36. Interested candidates can obtain application form from College's office. Last date for the receipt of filled in applications is 23th July 2011.

4. Department of Minority Welfare, Govt .of Andhra Pradesh has announced scholarships for Minority students. Eligible minority candidates can apply on or before 31st July 2011. The department has issued a reminder as the response from the students is bleak.

KVPY Fellowship Scheme 2011-12 for Sciences, Engineering and Medicine Streams

Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Science in India is encouraging young students to take up science research as a career. The Govt. of India is offering various scholarships / fellowships for those candidates who wants to make a career in Natural, Biological and Engineering Sciences. Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana Fellowship (KVPY) Scheme is one of the best fellowship schemes for these students. Notification for KVPY 2011-12 has been released. These are highly reputed fellowships to be awarded every year for Basic Science, Engineering and Medical students. There are different categories under this scheme. Fellowship under KVPY scheme will be from Rs. 4000 to Rs. 7000 and it will based on the course / stream selected by the candidate. There will also be a annual grant of Rs. 16000 to Rs. 28000 for every selected candidate. Following are the details of categories of fellowships and application procedure for all the streams:

Basic Sciences: Streams under this category are:

1) SA and SP (After X Class);
2) SB and SP: During B.Sc./ B.S. and 1st to 3rd years of Integrated M.Sc.

Eligibility for various streams of fellowships:

Basic Sciences:

1. Stream SA: Candidates should have enrolled in the Class XI in Science Subjects during the academic year 2011-2012. They should have secured a minimum of 80 percent marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects in the X Standard Board Examinations. 70 percent marks are enough for SC/ST candidates.

2. Stream SX: Applicants should have enrolled in Class 12 (10+2) during the academic year 2011 – 2012. They will be joining in UG / Degree program in Basic Sciences (B.Sc/ B.S./ Integrated M.Sc) for the session 2012 – 2013 and should secure minimum 80 percent (70 percent for SC/ST candidates) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and Science subjects in the X Standard Board Examination.

3. Stream SB: Students enrolled in 1st year B. Sc./ B.S./ Integrated M.Sc. Programs during the academic year 2011–2012. They must have secured at least 60 percent (50 percent marks are enough for SC/ST students) marks in aggregate in Science subjects in the XII Standard Board Examination.

4. SP (Basic Sciences): Students should have enrolled in Class XI / XII, I OR II year of B.Sc../ B.S./ Integrated M.Sc.) in Basic Sciences and I / II year B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Arch. during the academic year 2011–2012. They should have secured at least 60 percent marks in aggregate in the X and XII Standard Board Examinations. 50 percent marks are enough for SC/ ST students. Additionally those students enrolled in the II year B.Sc./ B.S./ Integrated M.Sc/ B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Arch. program should have secured at least 60 percent (50 percent for SC/ ST candidates) marks in the I year examination. Candidates have to attach a hard copy of the science based research project done by the candidate along with the application.

5. Stream SP (Medicine): Students joining First / Second Professional year of MBBS / B.V.Sc/ BDS/ B.Pharma program during the academic year 2011-2012 are eligible. They must have passed XII Standard Board Examination with 80 percent (70 percent for SC/ST candidates) marks in aggregate in Science subjects or passed First Professional MBBS/ B.V.Sc/ BDS/ B.Pharma exam with not less than 60 percent (50 percent for SC/ST) marks.
