EAMCET 2011 Medical Cut Offs - Last Ranks of MBBS and BDS Courses

There seems to be a tough competition for MBBS and BDS seats in 2012. This is evident from the increased number of applications for EAMCET 2012 Medical stream. It is estimated that about 1 lakh candidates are going to appear for EAMCET Medical Entrance Exam to be held on 12th May 2012. Following are the last year ranks and cut off marks for EAMCET 2012 Medical streams. Last ranks for MBBS and BDS courses in all Government and Private category colleges are given below. If you look at the number of seats in MBBS and BDS courses, it can be reaffirmed that there will be a close fight for these seats in AP.

EAMCET 2011 cut off ranks / last ranks are available for Government colleges in Andhra, Osmania and SV University regions. The cut offs also provided for Non Local (NL) category. There are three categories of seats in MBBS and BDS colleges. These are Government, Private A and Private B categories. EAMCET 2011 MBBS and BDS cut offs are given for all these categories.

AP Tribal Welfare Schools Admissions 2012-13

Andhra Pradesh Tribal Welfare Residential Education Institutions Society (APTWREIS), Hyderabad has announced admission notification for Tribal Welfare Schools in various locations in Andhra Pradesh. Admission to Tribal Welfare, Ashrama, Gurukul, Pratibha and Best Available Schools will be held through this notification only. Following are details of schools, classes, seats and eligibility requirements:

1) PTG Gurukul Schools: 12 schools. Admission will be for 3rd class. Available seats are 960. Eligibility is pass in 2nd class. Parental income should be below Rs. 60000.
2) Tribal Welfare Residential Schools: Number of Schools are 65. Seats are 5600.
3) Ashram Schools: 92 (ITDA - 87 and non ITDA - 5). Admission will be given in 6th Class and students must have passed in 5th class.
4) Best Available Schools: 110 schools. Admission will be for 5th and 8th Classes. Candidates should have passed in 4th and 7th Class respectively for admission to 5th and 8th Class.
5) Pratibha Schools: 3 schools. Seats are 270. Admission will be into 8th Class and students who passed in 7th class are eligible.

Selection to all the classes will be through lottery system. The draw will be held by the respective authorities. 6) Date of counseling admission (1st phase): 22-05-2012
7) Dispatching of call letters for 2nd phase counseling: 23-05-2012
8) Date of 2nd phase of admission counseling: 31-05-2012

University of Hyderabad Telugu Podcasts for Children

University of Hyderabad, Gachibowli, Andhra Pradesh has come up with an innovative idea to teach Telugu language to the new generation children and students. The University, known as Hyderabad Central University has prepared and uploaded series of Telugu lessons. The audio and video Podcasts can be downloaded and accessed from the exclusive website www.uohpodcasts.in. The Podcasts are aimed at the NRI children and also those interested in learning Telugu using modern technological tools.

The Podcasts have been prepared by Dr. Pammi Pavan Kumar, Assistant Professor of Telugu at University of Hyderabad and Prof. Vasuki Belavani of Sarojini Naidu School of Journalism and Performing Arts of the same University. The podcasts are prepared in a easy to learn method. The Audio and Video material can be accessed through mobile phones, personal computers etc.

The website www.uohpodcasts.in will be aired soon with full fledged format of the site. This is first of its kind effort by an University to nourish a regional language. The podcasts will be very much useful for those interested in Telugu language, culture and traditions. Though there are several books, audio and video material to learn Telugu, most of them are found unfriendly to use by children.
