Selecting a Good MBA College

MBA is not a mere degree. MBA is a path for one to become a Manager. Manager is a person who has the abilities and competencies to manage scarce resources – men, machines, money, time, technology, etc. Therefore the MBA College should be capable of delivering the following skills, competencies and abilities in students:

1. Academic achievement with cutting edge curriculum which demonstrates application and
high standards of performance; Market driven specializations which can provide an edge in the employment;
2. Communication skills to carry one self with confidence;
3. Ability to analyze so that one distinguishes relevant from irrelevant information, identify issues and problems;
4. Commitment to enable seriousness of purpose;
5. Practicality which helps in being real and able to set attainable goals;
6. Maturity that develops tenacity, independence, organization;
7. Decisiveness in order to find facts, clarity of mind, ability to judge and the courage to take and implement decisions;
8. Critical thinking skills;
9. Intellectual creativity to think differently and develop new concepts and ideas;
10. Capacity for hard work through self-motivation, self- discipline and time management;
11. The mastery of IT skills by imparting knowledge of statistical packages, spreadsheets,
databases, etc.;
12. Adaptability so that one can work with fellow-employees from diverse backgrounds.

Problem with MBA colleges:

The current state of closure of MBA colleges is a market correction based on quality criterion. What ails the MBA colleges in the State today are –

1. Substandard teaching
2. Poor infrastructure
3. Lack of academic discipline
4. Lip service paid for employability skills
5. Not paying enough attention for practice of management
6. No industry interface
7. Insufficient focus on research
8. Virtually no faculty development on a continuing basis
9. Low aspiration level among the stakeholders

MBA is an aspirational course. Both the faculty and the students should have positive mindset, high aspiration, sense of achievement and high energy to be successful.

EAMCET 2012 BSc Agriculture Seats and Cut Offs

There are number of students opting for BSc (Agriculture) these days. But the colleges are very few and the competion is growing for the limited seats. There are only 620 seats available in BSc (Agriculture) course in Andhra Pradesh. Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University is offering BSc (Agri.) in 8 colleges affiliated to it. B.Pharmacy and Pharma D Colleges, Seats and Cut Offs 2012

There is a growing demand for B.Pharmacy course in Andhra Pradesh. Students are preferring B.Pharmacy, Pharma D and D.Pharmacy courses based on their career goals and qualifications. EAMCET 2012 qualified candidates can join in B.Pharmacy (4 years) and Pharma D (6 years) programmes. Number of seats in these courses will be equally shared for MPC and BiPC groups candidates. There are 292 Pharmacy Colleges in Andhra Pradesh with a total number of 29200 seats. 169 colleges are in OU region, 87 colleges in AU region and 36 colleges are in SVU region.

Pharma D is a six year course with clinical orientation. There are 32 Pharma D Colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Out of these 16 are in OU Region, 10 and 6 colleges are located in AU and SVU region. Pharma D course require excellent infrastructure and facilities. Candidates should thoroughly inquire about the standards of college before joining in Pharma D or B.Pharmacy course.
