In yet another Visa scam by an USA institute, Herguan University of Sunnyvale, California, about 400 students from India were trapped. The US Immigration authorities have issued accreditation withdraw notice to the University on Thursday and arrested the CEO of the University, Jerry Wang. It is estimated that majority of the students from India are from Andhra Pradesh. The details of the AP students enrolled in the University are yet to known.
The American Telugu Association (NATS) has offered help to the trapped Telugu students. The Association has informed that they will discuss the options available for the students and help them in moving to another university. AP students can contact at helpline email info@natsworld.org for any help in USA.
The ICE has filed charges on CEO of the University, Jerry Wang. He may have to face rigorous imprisonment along with heavy fine if the allegations are proved. Meanwhile the University has informed to the students through its website www.herguanuniversity.org that there will be no problem for the students as the CEO has been resigned. But the past incidents are indicating that the students may have two options in this situation, either shift to another university or leave the country.
AALIM Licensed Surveyor Training Programme 2015
Commissioner of Survey, Settlements and Land Records, Government of Andhra Pradesh has issued notification for Licensed Surveyor Training Programme for the year 2012 - 2013. The Course is offered by AP Survery Training Academy (AALIM), Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Candidates should have any one of the following qualifications to join in this training programme.

1) Pass in SSC examination and NCVT Certificate in Draughtsmen (Civil) Trade
2) Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering
3) Passed in Intermediate Vocations Course with Surveyor and Estimator subject.
4) Land Surveying Final or Intermediate qualification conducted by Institute of Surveyors
5) Certificate Course in Land Surveying conducted by SBTET, AP.
6) Passed in Intermediate Vocational Course with Water Supply and Sanitary Engineering Technician or Construction Technology.
7) Candidates with minimum 5 years field experience in the relevant Government department.
Applications can be obtained from AP Survey Training Academy. Cost of application is Rs.100 . This should be paid as DD drawn in favour of Vice Principal, AP Survey Training Academy. Course fee is Rs. 3000 (Rs. 1500 for SC and ST candidates). Last date for the receipt of filled in applications along with DD for course fee and other enclosures is 17th August 2012.

EAMCET 2012 Engineering Certificate Verification After 15th August
The EAMCET 2012 Engineering Counseling notification is likely to be issued at any time after 15th August 2012. This has been announced by the Chairman of APSCHE (Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education), Prof. Jaya Prakash Rao. He informed that the counseling dates may be decided after the meeting of cabinet sub - committee. In all possibility, the counseling may start after 15th August with the commencement of verification of certificates.
The cabinet sub committee is likely to meet in a week. And the EAMCET 2012 Engineering counseling date may come out within 4-5 days after the completion of the meeting. There has been undue delay in EAMCET engineering counseling this year as the fee issue has been with the Supreme Court. There are also apprehensions on the relevancy of Management quota in the context of uniform fee structure for Convener and Management Quota seats (Called as A and B Categories respectively).
It is also observed that the fee in 133 engineering colleges may go up to Rs. 50000 considering the initial estimations. These colleges were granted permission by the Supreme Court to hike fee after submitting affidavits on the facilities and infrastructure provided by respective colleges. Other colleges will have to follow the old fee structure. It is estimated that the fee in these colleges may go beyond Rs. 1 lakh if unified fee structure is implemented.
