BRAOU - CESS Ph.D and M.Phil Admissions 2013-14

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University, Hyderabad and Center for Economic and Social Studies are jointly offering Ph.D and M.Phil programmes in various disciplines for the year 2013. The application fee is Rs. 600 which should be paid in the form of DD drawn in favour of Director, CESS and payable at Hyderabad.

Ph.D and M.Phil programmes are offered in the field of Comers, Development Statistics, Economics, Geography, Political Science and Public Administration and Sociology.

Eligibility : Post Graduation in relevant disciplines with minimum 55 percent marks in aggregate. Mode of selection : Entrance test and interview.

The completed application form in the prescribed format (available on website) along with attested copies of certificates / mark sheets and fee DD should be sent to The Coordinator, Centre for Economic and Social Studies, Begumpet, Hyderabad - 500 016.

Important dates : Last date for the receipt of filled in application form is 22nd February, 2013. Entrance test will be held on 17th March, 2013. Interview date is 6th and 7th April, 2013.



NIT Warangal MBA Admissions 2013-14

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal has announced MBA admission notification for the year 2013-14. This is exclusively for Engineering Graduates. NIT Warangal is one of the top technical and professional institutes in the country.

Eligibility: Applicants should have first class marks in Engineering (BE / B.Tech) in any branch. They also need valid CAT / MAT score.

Selection will be based on the performance in Group discussion and personal interviews. Applications can be downloaded from the website www.nitw.ac.in . Last date for the receipt of completed applications is 4th March 2013 .

New Engineering Colleges in all Districts of AP 2013

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to establish a Government Engineering College in each district in the state. A new polytechnic college for women also will be established in all the districts. These are the proposals being prepared for the upcoming Budget for 2013-14.

It is also proposed that the allocation for the higher education will be increased in the coming budget. The other important proposals include:

1) Allocation of Rs.5445 crores for higher education for the year 2013.
2) Rs. 400 crores for the engineering colleges announced in Medak and Chittoor districts.
3) Rs. 720 crores for RGUKT IIITs at Basara, Nuzvid and Idupulapaya.
