Outcome Based Learning in JNTU Engineering Colleges from 2013-14

The Technical Universities in Andhra Pradesh are proposed to change the evaluation procedure for Engineering courses. The leading technical universities in the state, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological Universities at Hyderabad, Kakinada and Anantapur are are contemplating to introduce Outcome Based Learning (OBL) in the colleges under their purview.

The syllabus of Engineering courses also will be changed from 2013-14. In this context, the three JNT Universities at Kukatpalli, Kakinada and Anantapur are bringing these changes. These are aimed at changing the concentration of the students from marks to learning.

The new outcome based learning will be implemented starting with the first year students from the academic year 2013-14. The faculty of the Universities and colleges also will be trained as per the new syllabus and method.

EDCET 2013 Last Dates and Corrections to Online Applications

The last date for the receipt applications for EDCET 2013 has been extended. 79244 applications have been received so far for the entrance examination which admits students into B.Ed programme. Candidates can apply online only through the website at www.apedcet.org or www.edcet2013.info .

Candidates can apply for EDCET 2013 till 30th April 2013 with a late fee as prescribed in the notification. You can also do corrections in the online application through the Edcet website.

Intermediate Arts and Languages Books to be Changed from 2014

The Government of Andhra Pradesh is proposed to change the text books for various groups and subjects from the academic year 2013-14 and coming years. The Board of Intermediate Education (BIEAP) has changed Junior Intermediate books in 2012-13 and Senior Intermediate have been changed from 2013-14.

The Board is also contemplating to change the syllabus and text books of Junior Inter Arts / Humanities groups from the academic year 2014-15 and Senior Inter Arts / Humanities books from later year.

The text books of Modern Languages subjects also likely to be changed along with Arts subjects. The languages include Telugu, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Marathi, Kannada and Oriya.

According to the guidelines of the BIEAP, the syllabus and text books have to be reviewed after every five year. With the changes in Arts and Languages subject books, the process will be completed.
