Padmavati Womens Medical College in Tirupati from 2013-14

The Government of Andhra Pradesh is proposed to set up a state of the art Government Medical College for Women in Tirupati of Chittoor district. The college is likely to be named as Sri Padmavati Women's Medical College (SPWMC). The college will be affiliated to SVIMS, Tirupati. The college may start functioning from the academic year 2013-14.

The proposal has come out in a meeting by the Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy with TTD Executive Officer, L.V.Subramanyam. The lands allotted to Kanchi Peetham are likely to be taken back by the Government and will be allotted for setting up medical college.

It is observed that there are several irregularities on the part of the Kanchi Peetham representatives with regard to the use of the land. The management at SVIMS also not satisfied with the developments.

More number of medical seats will be available for EAMCET qualified candidates with the set up of Women Medical College. This will benefit women students as many girls want to become a doctor.

Eamcet 2013 Marks and Ranks on 5th June

Much awaited EAMCET 2013 ranks will be released on 5th June 2013 at 4-30 PM. The schedule has been postponed from 2nd June due to JEE (Advanced) examination on the same date. The decision to postpone the release of EAMCET 2013 ranks has been taken in a high level meeting of officials at JNTU Hyderabad on 29th May.

The decision has been taken considering prestigious JIPMER and JEE Advanced examinations on 2nd June. Students may be more excited on that day with these exams. The Eamcet results / marks on the same date will add fuel to the excitement. Hence the decision to avoid any untoward incidents.

Meanwhile, Prof. N.V. Ramana Rao has clarified that there were no mistakes in EAMCET Primary key released by the Government. About 100 objections were received by authorities from various sections of the people. All the objections were declared invalid.

It is observed that MBBS seats for the academic year 2013-14 are likely to be increased as there are two new colleges coming up in the state. The Government is proposed to set up Womens Medical University at Tirupati.

MBBS Seats for 2013-14 in AP Medical Colleges to go up

Are you an aspirant of MBBS / medical education in Andhra Pradesh. Then here is a good news for you. The chances of getting seat in MBBS through EAMCET examination are more brighter now as the number of MBBS seats in AP are increasing almost every year. ABout 450 MBBS seats are likely to be added this year (2013-14 academic year) to the total of 5500 seats available at present.

MBBS seats in Government Medical College at Nizamabad are likely to be increased. Apart from this, 50 seats each in Osmania, Gandhi, Kakatiya Medical Colleges will be added to the existing pool. This will create 250 additional seats in Government Medical colleges.

Two private medical colleges also will come up in Hyderabad with 100 MBBS seats in each college. There will be a Women's Medical College out of the proposed two colleges. The Medical Council of India has to sanction final approval to these colleges.

Medical (MBBS / BDS) Seats in AP:

1) MBBS seats in AP at present: 5500
2) Seats to be added this year: 450
3) Total seats including new colleges and increase of seats in existing colleges: 5950.
4) Govt. Seats (Medicine): 2050 + 250 (additional)
5) Govt. Seats - Dental (BDS): 180
6) MBBS Seats - Private: 3450 + 200 (Additional)
7) BDS seats - Private: 1650 + 100 (additional).
