10th Class Biology Very Short Answer Questions - Paper 2

Following are very short answer questions and answers for SSC / 10th Class students of AP Board. The questions will carry 1 mark each.

1. what is epiglottis?
Ans: the cartilaginous flap which acts as a lid over the glottis preventing the food from entering the larynx is called the epiglottis.

2. what is a target tissue?
Ans: the tissues or organs on which the hormones act are called target tissues or target organs.

3. what is callus?
Ans: when explant is placed in culture medium, the cells of the explant divide and re divide to produce an undifferentiated mass of tissue called callus.

4. what is incubation period?
Ans: the time elapsed between the entry of disease causing organism into the body and the appearance of the sickness is called incubation period.

5. why do sports persons take Glucose?
Ans: glucose being a simple sugar is immediately absorbed into the blood. So, sports persons and diseased persons take glucose.

6. what are carbon sinks?
Ans: the grasslands that absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere are called carbon sinks.

Institute of Public Enterprises Hyderabad Admissions into PGDM and Executive PGDM Programmes 2014 - 16

Institute of Public Enterprises, Hyderabad is inviting applications from eligible candidates for admissions into Post Graduate Diploma programmes for the academic session 2014. Candidates will be short-listed for group discussion and personal interview based on merit in CAT / MAT / ATMA / XAT / CMAT score.

1. PG Diploma Management programmes are offered in the specialization of General, Retail and Marketing, Banking, Insurance and Financial Service, International Business, Human Resource Management.
2. Executive PG Diploma in Management.

Eligibility : Graduation with minimum 50 percent marks in aggregate for PGDM and Degree with minimum 3 to 5 years of experience for Executive PGDM. Applicants must have a valid CAT / MAT / ATMA / XAT / CMAT score.
Duration of programme : Two years.
