APAMT Maths Olympiad Competitions on 29th November 2014

Andhra Pradesh Association of Mathematics Teachers (APAMT) has announced notification for Maths Olympiad 2014 competitions. The competitions are aimed at creating interest on Mathematics in the school going students. Following are details of eligibility and application procedure:

Eligibility: Students should be studying in 6th class to Graduation / Degree. The entire competition will be conducted in six categories.

The competitions will be held in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states in 600 exam centers on 29th November 2014. Interested candidates can contact at the phone number 98492 53515 for more details.

10th Class Model Papers on Eenadu Pratibha and Sakshi Education

The students of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states are appearing for 10th Class / SSC quarterly examinations for the academic year 2014-15. The examinations are scheduled in the month of October 2014. The students are searching for model question papers of Telugu, English, Hindi, Maths, General Science and Social Studies.

The students are appearing for these exams which will be conducted based on the new syllabus prescribed by both the governments for 10th class students. The question paper pattern has been changed in Telangana but the AP has decided to follow the old question paper scheme / structure.

Considering the requirements of 10th Class students of AP and Telangana, the leading portals eenadupratibha.net and sakshieducation.com have uploaded the model question papers for various subjects of 10th Class.

Students can read and download these model papers. They can also take a print out of the model question papers. The question papers will be useful for quarterly, half yearly and annual examinations as well.

10th Class Maths Weightage for Unit Test for AP Students 2014-15

Following are details of weightage for 10th Class / SSC / Tenth Class Mathematics subject as per the new syllabus for Andhra Pradesh students. The weightage for various chapters and type of questions has been given below. This weightage will be followed in AP 10th Class Public exams for the academic year 2014-15:

Weightage to academic standards:

1. Problem Solving: 40 percent - 10 marks
2. Reasoning & Proof : 20 percent - 5 marks
3. Communication : 12 percent - 3 marks
4. Connections : 16 percent - 4 marks
5. Representation & Visualisation : 12 percent - 3 marks

Weightage to content:

1. Real numbers: 48% - 12 marks
2. Sets : 20% - 5 marks
3. Polynomials : 32% - 8 marks

Weightage to type of questions:

1. Objective: 28% - 07 questions - 07 marks
2. Short Answer: 40% - 05 questions - 10 marks
3. Essay : 32% - 02 questions - 08 marks
