Senior Inter Physics Model Paper for IPE Exams - New Syllabus

Here we are giving Senior Intermediate Physics Model Question Paper for the students of AP and Telangana board. The IPE exams are scheduled in March  and here is the model paper as per the new syllabus.

SECTION - A

I. i) Answer ALL questions.
ii) Each carries 2 marks.
iii) All are very short answer type questions. 10 × 2 = 20

1. What is myopia? How can it be corrected?
2. A wire of resistance 4 R Ω is bent in the form of a circle. What is the effective resistance between diametrically opposite ends of the circle?
3. The horizontal component of the earth's magnetic field at a certain place is 2.6 × 10−5 T and angle of dip is 60°. What is the magnetic field of the earth at this location?
4. Magnetic lines of force form continuous closed loops. Why?
5. Write the two uses of infrared rays.
6. Write down Einstein's photoelectric equation and describe the terms involved.
7. The photoelectric cut-off voltage in a certain experiment is 1.5 V. What is the maximum Kinetic energy of photoelectrons emitted?
8. Draw the circuit symbols for (i) p - n - p transistor and (ii) n - p - n transistor.
9. A transformer converts 200 V ac into 2000 V ac. Calculate the number of turns in the secondary if the primary has 10 turns.
10. Define modulation and atennuation.

SECTION - B

II. i) Answer any SIX questions.
ii) Each carries 4 marks.
iii) All are short answer type questions. 6 × 4 = 24

11. Explain Doppler effect in light. Distinguish between red shift and blue shift.
12. With a neat labelled diagram explain the formation of image in a simple microscope.
13. Derive an expression for the potential energy of an electric dipole placed in a uniform electric field.
14. State Kirchhoff's laws for electrical network. Using these laws deduce the condition for balancing in a Wheatstone bridge.
15. The current in a circuit falls from 5 A to 0 A in 0.1 S as a result if an average emf of 200 V is induced in the circuit, calculate the self inductance of the circuit.
16. What are the limitations of Bohr's theory of hydrogen atom?
17. State and explain Biot-Savart law.
18. Distinguish between half-wave and full-wave rectifiers.

SECTION - C

III. i) Answer any TWO of the following.
ii) Each carries 8 marks.
iii) All are long answer type questions. 2 × 8 = 16

19. Explain the formation of stationary waves in stretched strings and hence deduce the laws of transverse waves in stretched string?
20. Obtain an expression for the torque on a current carrying loop placed in a uniform magnetic field. Describe the construction and working of a moving coil galvanometer.
21. What is radioactivity? State the law of radioactive decay. Show that radioactive decay is exponential in nature.
