The JNTU Hyderabad (JNTUH) has come out with a surprise by cutting 97000 engineering seats in Telangana colleges for the academic year 2015-16. There is huge cut in number of seats and branches of various engineering colleges. The engineering counseling for TS - EAMCET 2015 qualified candidates will start from 6th July 2015.
25 Colleges have opted for the de-recognition / de-affiliation on thier own. With the latest cut in seats, there are only 86000 seats in engineering course in Telangana. 91000 candidates were declared qualified in the TS - EAMCET exam 2015.
Following is the latest seat matrix for engineering counseling in Telangana:
1) Qualified in TS - EAMCET : 90556
2) Total seats: 86185
3) Seats in JNTUH purview: 77955
4) Seats in OU purview: 5720
5) Seats in KU purview: 2520
6) Seats in Government Colleges: 3332
7) Seats in Convener quota: 62744
8) Appeared for certificate verification: 62777
Seats under the purview of JNTUH for Various Branches:
1) Civil Engineering: 9825
2) Computer Science and Engineering: 22440
3) Information Technology: 2160
4) Electronic and Communication Engineering (ECE): 20070
5) EEE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering): 9945
6) Mechanical Engineering: 9285
7) Other branches: 2910
8) Total seats: 76635
All the above are seats in private engineering colleges. Apart from these there are some more seats in Government campus colleges. These are as follows:
1) JNTUH campuses: 1320
2) Osmania University: 5729
3) Kakatiya University: 2520
OUCET 2015 Web Counseling and Certificate Verification for PG Admissions
Osmania University (OU), Hyderabad has decided to conduct web counseling for the OUCET 2015 admissions. The University has taken a decision in this regard for conducting online admissions into PG courses from the academic year 2015-16. The details of web counseling will be released by Osmania University on it website www.osmania.ac.in very soon.
The admission into MA, M.Sc, M.Com and various diploma and PG diploma programmes in Osmania, Palamuru, Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi Universities will be through OUCET 2015 results and web counseling.
There are around 19000 seats in 52 courses being conducted by OU. The seats include campus and affiliated colleges of respective universities. The counseling process will start from the second week of July 2015.
Candidates need to attend for the certificate verification at Hyderabad. After that they can enter web options through internet. The University will start helpline centers at the district level from the next academic year.

Osmania University Ph.D Entrance Results on 6th July 2015
Osmania University (OU), Hyderabad has informed that the results of Ph.D Entrance examinations conducted about 3-4 months back will be released on 6th July 2015. The officials have been postponing the announcement of Ph.D Entrance Test / Eligibility Test results citing various reasons.
Several student organisations have met the admissions department officials on 29th June 2015 at Osmania University and pressurised for the release of Ph.D Entrance test results. The ABVP candidates have questioned the officials on the issue and got the results information.
The Osmania University has conducted several entrance and academic examinations recently and released the results within a month or two months. But the Ph.D Entrance Tests results have not been released for so many months and students have been waiting for the results to take a decision on their careers.
OU is offering Ph.D program in the departments of social sciences, sciences, languages, chemical sciences, physical sciences, arts, humanities, engineering sciences, management etc.
