ISI Kolkata B.Stat, B.Math, MS, M.Tech. JRF Admissions

ISI, Kolkata has announced admission notification for 2012-13. Founded by noted economist, P.C. Mahalanobis, Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) is a highly reputed institute in providing quality programmes in the areas of Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computers and other sciences. Admission for the year 2012 are open for various Graduate, Post Graduate, PG Diploma and Junior Research Fellowship Programmes. The institute has its branches at Delhi and Bangalore apart from main campus at Kolkata, West Bengal. Here are details of eligibility and application procedure for different courses:

1. Under Graduate / Graduate Programmes: B.Stat. (Hons.) / B. Math (Hons.); Duration : 3 years; Eligibility: 10+2 / Intermediate / HSE with Mathematics as a subject. Selected candidates will get Rs. 800/- per month as stipend.

2. Post Graduate Programmes: M.Stat / M.Math/ Master of Science (M.S.)/ Library and Information Science/ M.Tech in Computer Science / M.Tech. in Quality, Reliability and Operations Research; Eligiblity: Applicanst must have completed Bachelor’s degree with Statistics / Economics / Mathematics / Statistics/ Physics OR B.E./ B.Tech. OR B.Stat. / B.Math from ISI. Course specific qualifications are available on the ISI website.

For M.Tech. Courses, candidates should have Master’s degree in Mathematics / Information Technology / Statistics / Physics / Computer Applications/ Electronic Sciences/ Computer Science/ B.Sc. Engineering/ AMIE / GRAD-IETE / DOEACC ‘B’ Level). Stipend for M.S. courses is Rs. 1200 and for M.Tech courses is Rs. 5000/- per month. GATE scores will also be considered for short listing for interviews.

3. Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Offered in Quality, Reliability and Operations Research / Quantitative Economics / Computer Science / Mathematics / Biological Anthropology / Statistics / Agriculture and Ecology / Sociology / Geology / Physics and Applied Mathematics / Psychology / Library and Information Science. Fellowship is Rs. 14000/- for M.Techs and Rs. 12000/- for others.

4. PG Diploma in Statistical Methods with Applications: Applicanst should have Bachelors Degree with Mathematics / B.E./ B.Tech in any branch.

Selection for all the programmes will be based on written tests and interview along with weightage to academic record. Final year candidates also can apply.
