Telangana University Ph.D Admissions 2011-12

Telangana University, Dichpally, Nizamabad is inviting applications from for admission into Ph.D. Programme for the academic year 2011-12. Ph.D. programme is offered in the faculties of Arts (Telugu Studies, English, Urdu, Hindi and Mass Communication), Faculty of Science (Chemistry, Botany and Statistics), Social Sciences (Economics), Commerce and Business Management and Law. The Ph.D Admission in various disciplines is subject to the availability of vacancies with the Research Supervisors in the concerned Department. Following are details of eligibility, application procedure and selection process:

Eligible candidates have to register for the Ph.D. Programmes. All the candidates those qualified in National / State Level Test namely UGC/ CSIR/ ICAR/ ICMR/ NET/ SLET and M.Phil degrees also should register. Telangana University will conduct an entrance examination for shortlisting the candidates. Those qualified in National or State Level Test namely UGC/ ICMR/ CSIR/ ICAR/ NET/ SLET and M.Phil are exempted from written examination. Syllabus for Ph.D. Eligibility Test will be available on the university website at www.telanganauniversity.ac.in . Model papers of Ph.D. Eligibility Test 2011 also will be uploaded to the official website very soon.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants should have a Post-Graduate Degree in regular / distance mode in the concerned discipline / subject with minimum 55 percent marks. SC /ST candidates need 50 percent marks. Candidates should have been awarded a research fellowship through a National Level Test namely UGC/ CSIR/ ICAR/ ICMR. OR Candidates should have qualified in UGC - CSIR NET, GATE or SLET Examination of Government of Andhra Pradesh. Candidates with M.Phil Degree through regular mode OR M.E./M.Tech Degree holders also can apply. OR Candidates should have qualified in Ph.D. eligibility test conducted by Telangana University.

Interested candidates can download application forms for Ph.D. Eligibility Test from the University website at www.telanganauniversity.ac.in . Completed application forms along with requisite certificates and enclosures and a crossed Demand Draft for Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees one thousand) drawn in favour of The Registrar, Telangana University, Nizamabad and payable at SBI TU Campus Branch. Filled in applications should reach 'The Director, Centre for Research and Development, Telangana University, Nizamabad -503 322. Last date for submission of filled-in applications is 15th November 2011.
