Gitam GSAT 2012 for M.Sc. and UG Science Programmes

Candidates interested in admission to various M.Sc. programmes of GITAM Institute of Science for the academic year 2012-13 should appear for appear GSAT - 2012. The GSAT - 2012 conducted by GITAM University consists of the following tests. In each test, there will be 60 multiple choice questions from the syllabus prescribed for the test. You can download syllabus from the GITAM website at www.gitam.edu. Candidates will be allotted ranks separately based on the performance in the respective tests. Candidates have to apply separately for each test and fee for each test is Rs.300/-. The question paper of GSAT 2012 contains three sections: Section - A (15 bits), Section - B (20 bits), and Section - C (25 bits). Duration fo the test is one hour. Following are details of programmes, eligibility and test to be appeared for each programme:

1) M.Sc. Applied Mathematics: Test paper - Mathematics; Questions - 60; marks - 60.
2) M.Sc. Physics / M.Sc. Electronics Science: Test Paper - Physics/ Electronics; Questions - 60; marks - 60.
3) M.Sc Analytical Chemistry / M.Sc. Organic Chemistry: Test Paper -Chemistry; Questions - 60; marks - 60.
4) M.Sc. Biochemistry / M.Sc. Biotechnology / M.Sc. Microbiology / M.Sc. Food Science and Technology : Test Paper - Life Sciences; Questions - 60; marks - 60.
5) M.Sc. Bioinformatics: Test paper - Bioinformatics; Questions - 60; marks - 60.
6) M.Sc. Environmental Science: Test paper - Environmental Science; Questions - 60; marks - 60.

Admission to all M.Sc. Programmes is based on the rank obtained in GSAT 2012. Candidates with minimum 50 percent of marks group (optional) subjects in the qualifying examination are eligible for GSAT 2012. Candidates who have already passed or appearing for the final year exams of qualifying examination are eligible for GSAT - 2012.

Admission to UG programmes: GITAM University is offering following UG programmes in Science subjects:
1) Bachelor of Environmental Management (BEM)
2) Five year Integrated M.Sc. Programme in Biotechnology (Those discontinued after 3 years can secure B.Sc. at the end of 3rd year and will get B.Sc. (Hons.) at the end of 4th year)
3) Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)
Candidates interested in joining in above programmes are also required to appear for GSAT - 2012. Applicants should have minimum aggregate of 50 percent marks in group (optional) subjects at the Intermediate / 10+2 level in science subjects. Candidates who have appeared/ are going to appear for the final year examinations in 2012 are also eligible.

GITAM Institute of Science offer merit fellowships for 10 percent of students of each M.Sc. programme at Rs.2000/- per month and it will depend on the performance at the first semester end examinations. Merit-cum-means scholarships are also available for deserved candidates. Interested candidates can download application forms from website www.gitam.edu.
