1) M.Phil: Duration is one year. Programme is offered in Arabic, English, French, hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Persian, Philosophy, AIHC and A, Linguistics, Islamic Studies, Communication and Journalism and Theatre Arts. Eligibility Requirements: Applicants should have passed Master’s Degree in the concerned subject OR in an allied subject. They should have secured at least 55 percent marks. M.Phil is a full time research programme and selected candidates have to work full time. There will be a course work for four months. Teacher candidates are allowed for registration if they take four months leave to attend the course work under Part-I. Admission will be based on an Entrance Test.
2) Ph.D: The programme is offered in full time and part time modes. Duration of full time course is 3 years and part time course is 4 years. Ph.D is offered in the departments of Arabic, English, French, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Persian, Philosophy, AIHC and A, Linguistics, Islamic Studies and Communication and Journalism.
Eligibility for Ph.D.: Applicants should have a Master’s degree in the concerned subject with at least 55 percent marks. SC and ST candidates need minimum 50 percent marks. Apart from PG, candidates should have M.Phil or qualified in the UGC - CSIR NET OR GATE examination or SLET examination of Government of Andhra Pradesh. Or they need at least two research papers in the broad area of research in standard journals. Admission will be through Ph.D. Eligibility Test conducted by the University.
