PRIME Visakhapatnam Global Marine Engineer Course 2011

Praveenya Institute of Marine Engineering and Maritime Studies ( PRIME ), Visakhapatnam has announced notification for admission into GME (Global Marine Engineer) for the year 2011-12. The course is approved by Directorate General of Shipping, Govt. of India. PRIME was established in the year 2005 by a group of engineers and academicians in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. PRIME is the only institute in Andhra Pradesh offering 4 year BE Marine Engineering degree courses along with GME programmes. Following are details of programme, eligibility and application procedure:

Global Marine Engineer (GME): Duration is one year. The institute and courses are recognized by AICTE and is affiliated to Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. Qualification: Applicants should have BE or B.Tech in Mechanical or Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering from AICTE recognised college with minimum 50 percent marks. Short listed candidates will be called for Physical Fitness and Medical Examination conducted by DGS approved Doctor to be conducted at the Institute. After this, candidates are required to appear in an Entrance Test jointly conducted by the Institute and Andhra University. The written test consists of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English and General Knowledge. Each topic consists of 12 multiple choice questions. Total question paper will contain 60 questions for 60 marks. Duration of the exam is 90 minutes. Those qualified in written examination are required to attend Group Discussion and Interviews.
