SV University PG, M.Phil and Ph.D Admissions

Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) is offering various Post Graduate Courses along with M.Phil and Ph.D. in the disciplines of Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts. The SVU is also offering PG Diploma, Junior Diploma and Certificate programmes in various subjects. SV University was started with six departments of Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Physics, Zoology, Economics and Philosophy. The University has eight constituent colleges along with a PG Center at Kavali with different conventional and advanced subjects. At present, SVU is offering 71 PG courses, several Diploma and Certificate courses. Following is the admission procedure for various programmes offered by SV University, Tirupati:

1) PG Courses: Candidates seeking admissions into P.G. Courses should qualify in the entrance test (SVURPGCET / SVUPGCET) conducted by Directorate of Admissions, SV University. For details of the entrance test, you can contact at phone: 0877 - 2248589

2) M.Phil and Ph.D. (Full time / Part time) Admissions: Candidates who want to pursue M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes have to qualify in the Research Entrance Test conducted by S.V. University. This test is called as SVU RESET . Candidates who have passed in the national level tests such as UGC / CSIR / NET/ GATE or SLET examination need not write RESET examination. But all the candidates have to apply in response to the research admissions notification.

The final selection of the candidates for P.G. Courses and M.Phil. Programme will be completely based on the marks obtained in the S.V.University Entrance Test and also depends on the availability of seats in the concerned subjects and disciplines. The selection of the candidates for Ph.D. Programme is based on fulfilling eligibility in the entrance test, availability of vacancies with guides and also consent of the faculty member to guide the student.
