More Seats for AP Students in NITs through AIEEE

AIEEE 2012 qualified students from Andhra Pradesh have secured as many seats as possible in NITs this year. After four rounds of AIEEE counseling by Central Counseling Board (CCB), it is observed that many students from AP secured seats in the reputed NITs. NITs are allocating 50 percent of engineering seats to other states students and 50 percent seats to Home State candidates.

Though the number of engineering seats for AP students in NIT Warangal have come down, this has been compensated by grabbing good number of seats in other prestigious NITs like NIT Trichy, NIT Suratkal, NIT Calicut and NIT Nagpur.

About 80 percent of other state quota seats in the NITs at Trichy, Nagpur, Suratkal and Calicut are secured by AP students. 268 students have joined in NIT Calicut and 167 candidates from AP grabbed engineering seats in NIT Trichy. 105 students have joined in NIT Suratkal and another 205 students of AP secured seats in NIT Nagpur. AP students have also secured good number of seats in other NITs and IIITs located across India.
