10th Class English Story Writing - Paper 2

There will be a question on Story Writing in 10th Class English Question Paper of AP Board.

AN HONEST WOOD CUTTER

Once there lived a woodcutter. He was very poor but honest. One day he was cutting a tree on the river bank. His axe slipped and fell into the water. The woodcutter felt very sad. The river god took pity on the woodcutter. He
came out of the water and offered him a gold axe. The woodcutter refused to take it saying that it was not his axe. The god offered him a silver axe. But the woodcutter again refused to take it. He said that his was an iron axe.

Finally, the god appeared with an iron axe and offered it to the woodcutter. The woodcutter happily accepted it since it was his axe. The god was very much pleased with the woodcutter for his honesty. He gave him all the three
axes!

Moral: Honesty is always rewarded.

Exercise: Write a story using the hints given below.
