Senior Inter Chemistry Model Paper - New Syllabus

Following is the Chemistry Model paper for Senior Intermediate Public Examinations - 2014. This is Paper II (English Version).

1. Write the names and structures of the monomers of the following polymers?
a) Nylon 6, 6 b) Bakelite
2. How is change in Gibbs energy (ΔG) related to the emf (E) of a galvanic cell?
3. What is the role of cryolite in the extraction of aluminium?
4. What are "Thermosetting polymers" and "Thermoplastic polymers"?
5. What are "food preservatives"? Give 2 examples.
6. What are "antibiotics"? Give 2 examples.
7. A solution of glucose in water is labelled as 10% w/w What would be the molarity of the solution?
8. Using IUPAC norms write systematic names of the following
i) [Co (NH3)6] Cl3 and
ii) [Pt (NH3)2 Cl (NH2 CH3)] Cl
9. Haloalkanes react with KCN to form alkyl cyanides as main product while AgCN forms isocyanides as the chief product. Explain.
10. Write the isomers of the compound having molecular formula C4H9 Br.

16. Write the steps involved in the coupling of Benzene diazonium chloride with aniline and phenol?
17. Give the sources of the following vitamins and name the diseases caused by their deficiency.

18. How is ammonia manufactured by Haber's process?
