3 New Medical Colleges in AP - 600 More MBBS Seats for 2014-15

The Andhra Pradesh has been sanctioned with three new medical colleges. With this, the students of Andhra Pradesh will get an additional 600 MBBS seats which will be filled through EAMCET. The two Government medical colleges will come up in Tirupati (Sri Padmavathi Womens Medical College) and Nellore and a private medical college will be established in Kurnool.

Apartment from this, the MCI has restored 100 MBBS seats cancelled in RIMS at Ongole. The Rangaraya Medical College and Sri Venkateswara Medical College got 50 additional seats each.

Following are details of seats added to the existing pool in AP:

1) Sri Padmavathi Women Medical College, Tirupati: 150 seats
2) Government Medical College, Nellore: 150 seats
3) Viswa Bharathi Medical College, Kurnool: 150 seats
4) Narayana Medical College, Nellore: 100 seats (total 250 seats)
5) GSL Medical College: 50 seats (total 200 seats)

Sri Padmavathi Womens Medical Colleges is the second in its category in the country. The students from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will get benefited with the increase of MBBS seats as common admissions will be conducted for both the states.
