500 More MBBS Seats in Andhra Pradesh

The new state of Andhra Pradesh is likely to get another 500 MBBS seats for the academic year 2014-15. The Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas has informed that the AP will get more medical seats apart from the existing 950 MBBS seats.

At present 650 MBBS seats are available in Government medical colleges and another 300 seats are there in private medical colleges. The private colleges have been sanctioned with another 500 MBBS seats by MCI, New Delhi.

The Minister has also informed that Gayathri Education Society and Gitams Medical College in Visakhapatnam are likely to get 150 seats each after verifications by MCI.

Great Easter Medical College at Srikakulam may be sanctioned 100 MBBS seats along with 50 seats each for NRI medical college at China Kakani and Katuri Medical College at Guntur. The AP government is likely to construct super specialty hospitals at Vijayawada and Anantapur.
