SSC English Grammar Exercises with Answers for AP and Telangana New Syllabus

Change the following sentences into the passive voice.
1. Someone knocked at the door.
2. The gardener is watering the plants.
3. I will return the book in a week.
4. The elephant does not eat meat.
5. Mr. Mahmood Pasha never punishes students.
6. Our social studies teacher has given different assignments.

Answers:

1. The door was knocked at.
2. The plants are being watered by the gardener.
3. The book will be returned in a week (by me).
4. Meat is not eaten by the elephant.
5. Studies are never punished by Mr. Mahamood Pasha.
6. Different assignments have been given by our social studies teacher.

Rewrite the following using the ones given in brackets:

1. I reached the station. Then the train left. (When - as soon as - no
sooner ... than).
2. Go out in the rain and you will get wet. (If - unless).
3. Make good use of time. You will prosper in life. (If - unless -
otherwise - lest).
4. Shruthi is very weak. She cannot carry a bucketful of water. (Too

1. When I reached the station, the train left.
