Engineering Candidates also Eligible for B.Ed in Telangana State from 2017-18

The Government of Telangana has issued orders allowing Engineering graduates with BE / B.Tech degrees to pursue B.Ed course in the state. They can appear for TS EDCET (Telangana State Education Common Entrance Test) from 2017.

BE / B.Tech candidates with mathematics are eligible for mathematics methodology. For Physical Sciences, engineering graduates should have studied physics and chemistry to be eligible.

The NCTE has issued orders last year permitting engineering graduates for B.Ed courses and the order is being implemented.

Apart from this, the State Government has amended one year B.Ed course to two years as per the guidelines of NCTE. The GO will allow the B.Ed colleges for the academic year 2017-18. EDCET admission committee will issue a schedule for counselling.
