Degree Spot Admissions in Telangana Colleges for 2017-18

The Education Department of Government of Telangana is likely to allow spot admissions for degree colleges as number of seats are remain vacant after several rounds of counseling. The Government and private degree colleges in the state are requesting the government to allow spot admissions for vacant seats.

The spot admissions will be open for those who have not secured seats in fourth and final round along with unregistered candidates. A chance will be given to all the categories of candidates.

The spot admissions process for degree colleges will be completed by 10th September 2017 as classes have been already commenced for regular students.

It is estimated that a total of 1,93,198 seats have been filled and 2,14,536 seats are lying vacant in 1,088 government and private colleges in Telangana State.

The government of Telangana has already announced that colleges with less than 25 per cent admission in a particular course will lose their affiliation. This rule is likely to result in closing of at least 400 degree colleges this year.
