Grading System in Intermediate in Telangana from 2019

The Government of Telangana is proposed to implement grading system in Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) from the academic year 2019-20. There will be changes in EAMCET weightage also accordingly.

Phasing out weightage:

The Government is also considering phasing out weightage for Intermediate marks in EAMCET rankings. Entrance exams for courses such as NEET, and admission into BDS and AYUSH courses are being conducted without weightage for Intermediate or Plus Two marks.

Not this year:

Grading system will not be implemented this year as marks are given for junior Intermediate students. The system has to be implemented for newly joined candidates in 2018-19 and the grades will be given for the exams conducted in 2019.

Injustice to merit candidates:

Several people are arguing that the grading system will do injustice to the meritorious candidates as it will given same weightage to students between 9.5 - 10 CGPA. There will be many changes in the coming years in Intermediate evaluation and entrance examinations. National level entrance exam is also proposed by the centre for engineering admissions.
