In a notable departure from past practice, the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) has released its admissions schedule for the 2026-27 academic year a day before the Telangana 10th class public examinations even began, rather than waiting for results to be announced as has been the norm in previous years. The schedule covers admissions to the six-year integrated B.Tech programme at both the Basar and Mahabubnagar campuses for the first year of the Pre-University Course (PUC).
The schedule was officially announced on March 13 by In-charge Vice Chancellor Govardhan, OSD Muralidarshanam, Admissions Convener Sekhar, and Co-Convener Harikrishna. The decision to release the schedule this early is seen as a proactive step to give aspirants and their families ample time to prepare their applications and documentation well in advance.
Key Dates at a Glance
The official notification will be published on March 16, with online application registration opening on March 18. The last date to register online is May 10, and the deadline to physically submit application forms is May 20. The merit-based selection list will be published on May 30, and the first round of counselling is scheduled for June 5.
Who Can Apply
An important clarification has been issued for students currently sitting their 10th class exams: they do not need to wait for their results to apply. All 10th class students appearing in the current exams can register using their hall ticket number. This is a particularly student-friendly provision, ensuring that the application window does not exclude anyone who is yet to receive their final results.
