New Text Books for 10th Class in AP from 2014-15

The Government of Andhra Pradesh will be introducing new text books for 10th Class (SSC) from the next academic year (2014-15). The new text books are under preparation for all the subjects of Tenth Class. New text books for Maths, Science, Social, Telugu, English and other subjects will available for next academic year starting from 2014-15.

This will be the first change / revamp of text books for 10th Class in AP after 1996. SCERT is preparing these new text books considering the CBSE syllabus and curriculum for national level competitive examinations.

The text book preparation process will be completed by the end of December 2013. The SCERT is mainly focusing on Mathematics and Science text books. It is also trying to bridge the gap between the SSC books and already changed Intermediate books.

The Physics text book size will be reduced for Tenth Class. Experts opined that the present 10th Physics book has vast syllabus and tougher than CBSE books. Considering this the book will be condensed for about 20 -40 pages.

Hyderabad Central University Admissions 2014-15

University of Hyderabad has announced notification for admissions into Degree, PG , M.Tech, M.Phil and Ph.D programmes for the academic session 2014 - 15. University of Hyderabad, also known as Central University of Hyderabad and Hyderabad Central University (HCU) is one of the top research and academic institutions in the country. The University has decided to do away with cut off marks system in the entrance exams from 2014-15.

Courses / Programmes are offered in the following disciplines.
I.M.A and I.M.Sc (5 years Integrated course) - Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences.

PG - Science, Social Sciences, Art History, Performing Arts, Humanities, Fine Arts, Communication, Business Administration Health Care and Hospital Management, Health Psychology, MCA and Master of Public Health.

Advanced PG Diploma and PG Diploma courses - Folk Culture Studies, Sanskrit Computational Linguistics, Mineral Exploration, Children Theatre / Theatre in Education and Health Communication.

M.Tech programmes - Computer Science, IT, Bioinformatics,Computer Techniques, Artificial Intelligence, Integrated Circuit Technology, Mineral Exploration, Materials Engineering and Nano Science and Technology.

M.Phil Programmes - Humanities and Social Sciences.
Ph.D programmes - Science, Humanities, Social Sciences, Dance, Theatre Arts, Communication and Managemtn Studies.

Integrated M.Phil / Ph.D - Cognitive Science.
Integrated M.Sc / Ph.d - Biotechnology.

No Cut Offs in HCU Entrance Exams from 2014-15

The University of Hyderabad. a top rung education and research university in the country has decided to do away with cut off marks in admission entrance exams from the academic year 2014-15. The decision will be implemented for all PG, M.Phil and Ph.D programmes in the University from the next year.

The decision to remove cut off marks system has been taken considering the seats remain vacant after the completion of admissions every year. It is estimated that about 15 percent are not being filled due to cut off marks system. The admission will be taken up based on merit and reservations from the next year and there will be no cut offs.

The University has also taken the decision to pay the balance fee of reserved candidates as the fee paying by the Government in the form of scholarships is not meeting the requirements of the University. The University of Hyderabad has issued admission notification for the year 2014-15.

Admission notification of University of Hyderabad for the academic year 2014-15 will be issued on 4th December 2013. The University will be introducing two new PG Diploma courses from the academic year 2014-15.
