CAT 2010-11 for PGDM in IIMs and Non-IIMs

Common Admission Test Notification for admission into PG Diploma in Management Programs (equivalent to MBA) in Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for 2011-12 has been released. The CAT will be conducted online from 27 October 2010 to 24 November 2010. CAT scores will be considered for admission into PGP in Management in IIMs at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, Kozhicode, Lucknow, Ranchi, Rohtak and RGIIM- Shillong. Along with these Fellow Programs in some IIMs also available with this score. CAT 2010 vouchers can be abtained from designated Axis Bank branches across India from 30 August 2010 to 27 September 2010. Cost of application/ voucher in Rs. 1400 (For SC, ST candidates Rs. 700). Apart from IIMs, there are so many prestigious private B-Schools which consider CAT scores for admission into their management courses of various type.

Essential Eligibility: The applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50 percent marks. Candidates appearing for the final year exams of degree and those awaiting for results can also apply. IIMs have specific eligibility criteria apart from CAT score. Candidates have to maintain a valid email account throughout the selection process for communication. CAT voucher must be bought only in the name of the candidate as it appears in SSC or 10th class certificate.

Application Procedure: After purchasing CAT 2010 voucher, candidates need to login to the website www.catiim.in and should watch the CAT 2010 video. The registration process will start from 30 August 2010 and closes on 30 September 2010. Detailed process for registration available on the above website.

The test will be conducted in number of venues across the country. The duration of the CAT is 2-30 hours. No breaks will be given during the time of test. The test consists of questions from quantitative, verbal, and logical and data interpretation abilities. There will be a total of three sections in the test and will be about 60 questions in the examination.
