IIT JEE 2011 Notification for Engineering Admissions

Joint Entrance Examination for entry into Engineering Graduate courses in Indian Institutes of Technology for 2011-12 will be conducted on 10th April 2011. IIT Joint Admission Board has decided the important dates for application process, eligibility requirements and examination structure for IIT JEE 2011. Detailed notification will be released soon accordingly. There will be no change in exam pattern and structure. Old JEE question papers available on IIT websites along with key. Admission into IITs at Bhubaneswar, Bombay, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi, Patna, Rajasthan, Roorkee, Ropar, IT-BHU and ISM- Dhanbad will be based on JEE 2011 rankings. Candidates can download information brochure from any website of the above institutes.

Educational qualification: Applicants must have passed on Intermediate / 10+2 of any recognised board for the first time after October 1, 2009 or in the year 2010. Those appearing final exams in 2011 also eligible. Candidates should have secured minimum 60% marks in aggregate. SC/ ST/ PD candidates need 55% marks. A candidate can attempt JEE only twice in consecutive years.

Exam Pattern of JEE 2011: There will be two question papers in the exam. Each will have three hours duration. Both the question papers will consist of 3 separate sections. These section will be on subjects.. Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. All the questions in these papers will be of objective multiple choice type only. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in some sections. Candidates have to read instructions on the booklet thoroughly before marking the answers. There will be separate entrance examination for admission into Architecture and Design courses probably on the day of JEE itself.

Candidates can apply either online or offline mode. Offline application forms are available with designated bank branches of nationalised banks in all the states. Zonal wise list of bank branches where applications will be sold available on IITs website.
