Jumbled Question Papers in EAMCET – More Changes

In an effort to put an end to speculations of malpractices in the highly popular EAMCET examination, the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) has decided to introduce jumbled question papers from the EAMCET 2011, which is slated to be held during May 2011. Under this system, question numbers in each set / series of question papers A/B/C/D/ will not match with one another. Presently IITs and IIMs are implementing jumbled question papers for IIT-JEE and CAT respectively. The decision has been taken in the light of use of Bluetooth enabled devices in EAMCET 2010.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) authorities have indicated that the new method will be implemented in consultation with communication and intelligence wings of the police department. It is revealed by the police department that similar set and sequence of questions in each series of question papers also helped the cheaters in EAMCET 2010 medical examination. To avert any such misconduct in future, questions in each of the sets will be jumbled from Eamcet 2011. It is also most likely that the four optional answers for all the questions will be in different order in each set. This shall make students copy from one another impossible.

The organizing university may also decide to jumble to seating of students in the examination hall and will not be allowed to sit in ascending order of their hall ticket numbers. The seats are likely to be allotted randomly but not in the order of hall ticket numbers. JNTUH also planning to arrange cellphone signal jammers at some of the perceived problematic exam centres. Chairman of EAMCET committee and Vice Chancellor of JNTU Kukatpally informed that the initial meeting of the EAMCET committee will be held on January 29th to decide on the notification dates of Eamcet 2011.
