IIT JEE and EAMCET to go Online from 2013

The time has come to do away with paper and pencil entrance examinations. The trend of online examinations is catching up fast with the state level entrance exams also. The authorities conducting entrance exams in Andhra Pradesh are mulling to introduce online pattern in the EAMCET in the near future. It is a known fact that the conventional pen and paper format of examinations are slowly making way for online tests. There are several coaching centers to train students for online tests which are in great demand with increasing demand for online tests.

Many of the important entrance exams such as AIEEE, CAT and MAT are being conducted online only. The big advantage of these tests is it is easy to prevent question papers from leaking and the organizing agencies also can avoid errors in evaluation of answer scripts. The AIEEE and CLAT examination papers were leaked recently and they were forced to hold the exams again which is a huge waste of time, resources and money. The paper - pen tests also need hundreds of exam centers and transport facilities. The online entrance test does not require all these and easy to appear from convenient center. Most popular examinations such as CAT and AIEEE are conducted online for the past three years and there were no major issues reported till the date.

The IITs are also contemplating to conduct JEE examination online from the year 2013. The Government of Andhra Pradesh is also receiving proposals to conduct Eamcet online in the coming years. Universities such as Osmania and Andhra University are also thinking of online tests for PG Entrances. But the students have to get trained in online tests before they appear for the real test. Particularly, students from rural areas are not well acquainted with online tests as they are not fluent with the use of computers and internet at the college level.
