TANA helpline for AP students going to USA

The Telugu Association of North America (TANA), NRI Student Relationship wing has opened an exclusive helpline services to those students opting to study higher education in universities at USA. Ashok Babu Kolla, NRI Student Relationship Chair, TANA, who is also currently pursuing his Ph.D. in California has come out with an helping hand for AP students aspiring to go to USA for various courses. The NRI Student Relationship Wing of TANA has set some guidelines for students applying to universities in USA which are available on the website www.tana.org .

The student relationship wing has been opened by TANA in the aftermath of unfortunate Tri-Valley University issue which saw scores of students, majority of them from Andhra Pradesh being send out after their visas were frozen by the concerned US Authorities. About 30 percent of those students opted to come back to India, while the rest of the candidates have been transferred to other universities in USA.

Students should opt for accredited universities and should be in touch with seniors of the concerned university. The TANA website has displayed a list of approved and accredited universities in the USA and also provided the guidelines with a set of dos and don'ts for students and parents visiting USA for the first time. These efforts were initiated by TANA in the wake Tri - Valley University incident as most of the students applied for reinstatement after their student visas were frozen.
