Section - A
i) All are very short answer type questions.
iii) Each question carries TWO marks. (10 × 2 = 20 M)

1. What is Hyper metropia? How can it be corrected?
2. What happens to the weight of a body when it is charged positively?
3. Classify the following materials with regards to magnetism: Manganese, Cobalt, Nickel, Bismuth, Oxygen, Copper
4. State Ampere's Law and Biot Savart's Law?
5. If the wavelength of electromagnetic radiation is doubled. What happens to the energy of photon?

12. Does the principle of conservation of energy hold for interference and diffraction phenomena.
13. Derive an expression for capacitance of parallel plate capacitor.
14. Draw a circuit diagram showing how a potentio meter may be used to find internal resistance of a cell and establish a formula for it.
15. Describe the way in which eddy currents are used to advantage.
16. Explain different types of spectral series of Hydrogen atom?
17. Derive an expression for the couple acting on an electric dipole in a uniform electric field.
18. Distinguish between half wave rectifier and full wave rectifier.

Section - C

iii) Each question carries EIGHT marks. (2 × 8 = 16 M)

19. What is doppler effect? Obtain an expression for apparent frequency of sound heard when source is in motion with respect to an observer at rest.
20. Obtain an expression for torque on a current carrying loop placed in a uniform magnetic field. Describe the construction and working of a moving coil galvanometer.
